Missing the Ridged Band
The ridged band is a loss that circumcised men tend to overlook. Circumcised men do not have a ridged band.
The ridged band was discovered by the late Dr. John R. Taylor of Winnipeg, Canada.
It was reported in the medical literature in 1996.
The ridged band is heavily supplied with Meissner's corpuscles, an erogenous nerve ending. The Meissner's corpuscles are situated high in the ridges for maximum sensation. The Meissner's corpuscles are stimulated by movement and transmit very pleasant erogenous sensations.
The ridged band is located just inside the tip of the foreskin, so it is amputated by every circumcision surgery and causes severe loss of sensation.
