I first learned about circumcision at the age of 10 years old, and it literally twisted and significantly warped my view of the world, society, and mankind when I not only learned about this horrific practice, but discovered that I was a victim of it. What followed this revelation has been nearly 20 years of constant mockery, disregard, ostracization, and ignorance from those around me.

Let's set the facts straight: Every male that has been routinely genitally mutilated as an infant or child is a victim. It's that simple. That doesn't mean you have to adopt the victimhood mentality, but you are a victim of egregious oppressive systems nonetheless. Claiming you are not is delusion and does not represent reality.

I have went my entire life since the age of 10 never meeting another person in real life that has felt the same way about this practice as me. I abhor circumcision in all its forms, even the so called "medically justified" ones. I truly hate this barbaric practice in every way, shape and form. My experiences with genital mutilation and its aftermath have destroyed my ability for love, romance, and forming relationships with others, platonic or not.

I am truly lost in every sense of the word.

First, I am sorry to hear this.

You are not alone, even if for now connected only online. I feel the same way, and there are many others like us.

I won't just give you empty platitudes though. You are touching on something very, circumcision harm extends far beyond the original act. It is systemic oppression and marginalization to the utmost degree.

It would have been bad enough if they only intruded into and mutilated your child genitals. It would have been bad enough if they only intruded into you child genitals and nobody you know in real life cared. It would have been bad enough if they intruded into your child genitals, nobody cared, and you had no pathway toward legal justice. It would have been bad enough if they had only intruded into your child genitals, nobody cared, there was no justice, and they only victim blamed you.

I could go on and on. Make no mistake. Circ is not an isolated incident, and it doesn't end when the cutting ends. Just like the abolition of slavery was only the beginning of a long and never ending crusade against racism, even eradicating all future circumcision would be only the very beginning of justice for us.

They act like we are insane. They cannot comprehend their own thoughtlessness.

I was 9 years old when I find out and went through the same roller coaster of emotions as you. It hurt me to the core not having anyone's shoulder to cry on in that time of need when I was a child. I still don't as an adult...

Dear Risembers:

I see you have only recently joined. Welcome to CIRCUMCISED. It is a new and developing forum.

You are not alone. Most American males are circumcised. Peter Moore reported in 2015 that 62% of American males are circumcised. Many are unaware of their genital mutilation and falsely believe their genitals are normal.

However, an increasing number are recognizing that they have been irreversibly mutilated.

Foreskin restoration was developed in ancient times.

In modern times a group of men on the West Coast rediscovered foreskin restoration by tissue expansion. This technique has now been available for more than 40 years. Large numbers of circumcised men have undertaken foreskin restoration by tissue expansion. It is not a perfect restoration, but it does much to improve one's health and sense of well-being.

Also, one doctor in California is now doing surgical foreskin restoration.

Many men obtain relief from foreskin restoration.

I urge you to investigate and consider undertaking non-surgical foreskin restoration. It is a long, slow process, but it works.
